Managing Drift
When designing and operating trucks HD Machines considers the following to manage drift:
- Use the lower end of the pressure recommended for each nozzle
- Lower the boom height possible in order not to maintain the contracted spray pattern
- Increase the spray nozzle size to avoid increased pressure (we target 30 to 40 PSI)
- Spray until the wind speed is 10 mph and then we manage application to application from 10 mph to 15 mph
- Manage the spray with the wind direction (when sensitive areas are present)
- Avoid no wind situations to prevent spraying when an inversion is present
- Use a drift control agent
